Guideline on how to introduce yourself:

What's your name, where do you live and how old are you?

Hello!

You may call me Chicken or kfc =), I live in Sweden and I am in my late 20s.

For how long have you been playing on our servers?

Don't remember exactly when I started but I was active somewhere between 2009 - 2013.

Are you a dedicated zombie hunter or do you enjoy playing other mods, too?

I started playing cs 1.6 in the mid 2000s and all types of mods there (zombie, superhero, bhop, surf, predator, furien, deathrun etc). Then I moved to css playing mainly zombie mod, zombie escape and bhop. Started with cs: go around 2014 played a lot for a few years but got tired of the toxicity and the cheaters. Also watched cs go tournaments rooting for NiP and Fnatic of course ;).

What's your favourite thing about EliteHunterz?

When I started playing on EH servers as a teenager I simply found it very entertaining, initially I started off as an autonoob :D, eventually I moved on to hunting which was fun but could also be frustrating due to nades, blocking, players closing doors on teammates etc. Back then (gosh I'm starting to sound like my parents) you did not respawn and there was a cautiousness in hunting which was warranted. Players would also be slapped for camping when there were few zombies and many players.

I rediscovered this server again in 2023 after a particularly challenging part in my real life and I found it very nostalgic and soothing. I was shocked that there were still active players after almost 15 years, but it was a welcome surprise. Pleasant quality of life updates were discovered such as the "!zstuck" feature, not being able to kill teammates by closing doors etc.

A lot of things are much better than before but I miss the past where zombies actually had a fighting chance. Since you respawn as a human these days, I sometimes ask myself why I bother trying to win as a zombie when so many zombies are afk/goofing around and humans are all on top of boxes. On the other hand, if going into a corner and dying as a zombie is encouraged the game would quickly become boring.

My favourite thing about EH is the nostalgia and camaraderie which is difficult to find in real life without feeling embarrassed about gaming rather than attending parties which is considered by many to be more age appropriate conduct. Another thing is seeing the names of EH legends that I aspired to be as good as when I was younger (Koboldmaki, Easy, Niko) and the well balanced maps (eh_palace, vicissitude etc where zombies aren't just being slaughtered to get good scores).

I know I have had my fair share of conflicts with admins and other players on the server over the 2 years. I will admit that initially I played for KDR just like a lot of other hunters and would get upset when someone sabotaged. At the time I felt singled out and became rather defensive. Being accused of sabotaging by admins and intentional targeting by players I respect has been discouraging at times. However, consider this an offer to bury the hatchet. Nowadays I don't really play to win, rather, it is to have fun and goof around. My reasoning behind sneaking up to humans and scaring them, is that zombie mod should be a bit scary, the intent is to scare them and then kill them afterwards, not teaming. As for me targeting certain players I would like to see data corroborating these claims until then I will simply assume that it is a matter of confirmation bias. I do not harbor any ill will towards the mentioned players, after all we are all in different stages of life and maturity and as the age old adage says: wisdom comes with age (and open-mindedness).

Do you have any other hobbies than gaming?

In general performing well in hobbies, academically and socially has pervaded my life and been strongly correlated to my sense of self-worth. Whether it is about gaming, benchpressing more or reading books the trend has been to make the number go up.

As I have grown older and seen myself reach a plateau both physically and intellectually, I have struggled to find other ways to find self-worth where therapy has been particularly helpful.

Do you like pets and do you have a kitten? ^^

I like dogs and I find some cats cute but will not pet them unless you can guarantee that they will not scratch me and that they won't push my cup of coffee off the table 😓.

What a refreshing read! Thank you for this nice introduction :)

I appreciate the feedback you added, and I admit I share/understand some of those points.
Sometimes I wish I had a magic wand to resolve them, but alas most of the times I have to choose the lesser damaging option to guarantee the survival of the server.

Game on!

Edit: last week I generated this meme, which I can reuse for the 3rd time this week 😂 (jkjk!)

Fun fact: 100% of all cats will push the cup off the table.
