Thread count titles propositions

Here you may propose what custom titles will be shown along with your current post count. Here is what currently in use:

New Member - 0
Member - 5
Active Member - 25
Well-Known Member - 50

Reply with title and required post counts, they will be later chosen as one consistent ladder.

Member - 10
Active Member - 50
Well-Known Member - 100
Brillant Member - 250
Famous Member - 500
Golden Member - 1000
Ruby Member - 1250
Sapphire Member - 1500
Emerald Member - 2000
Diamond Member - 2500
Ultimate Member - 3000

That's an idea :)
 
I feel like we need more quality meme ranks, but I have no ideas

maybe make it so that its more obvious what rank is better, i dont think people will know whats higher. ruby or sapphire
 
hmmmmmmmm....basicly: if the post system gives tooo much "credit" I guess we will see a lot of spam posts?

I mean, if its better to be rank 1000 Golden Member, I for sure will immediately go to the "Count to 1000" thread, and start spamming.

And after that, make a new thread "Count to 10.000"....

I hope you see my poiint :)

People still do that, and did without ranks. Traffic on the forum does us only good, so I see no drawbacks here.

Yup, as Ineyy said, there's no problem to spam the offtopic area, it's meant to be, aslong as those are not ridiculous spam like random things but actual forum games :)
 
I heavily disagree with Xylon and byzoeiscool. I think we should have it as it used to be otherwise it will be a spam contest, it isn't that already but it would be to get a better title. "New posts" will be spammed more than usual.
Junior Member - 0-50 posts
Member - 50-100 posts
Senior Member - +100 posts

well-known suck
 
It'll make the forum alive, it was somehow dead, let's change it, a little bit of spam in the offttopic part is not a big deal, it'll "force" people to be active on the forum.
 
you guys forget the last time it got spammed and a whole bunch of posts got removed? gotta agree with havoc here, no reason to encourage a handful of people to just spam post

This discussion should actually be concluded elsewhere, this is not the topic of discussion here. All propositions will be considered.
 
This should exactly be the place to discuss it, it will be a big mess if we make too many ranks so people go spam-crazy. I hope we can stick to the old junior member, member, senior member.

As lotus mentioned, back when offtopic was spammed too much niko pruned the posts

It is a backwards approach, if this happens then things will either get moderated again and infractions issued, or post counts would be disabled either on node or section. I see no reason why people with actual post counts that did not include spamming, like mine 500 posts, should be exempted from being offered a title to showcase their contribution to the forum. What you propose does work in a way, but in no way it is a viable and coinciding with common sense approach.
 
whats the point of basically encouraging something if you are then going to punish those who do exactly what you are encouraging? isn't that a backwards approach? i don't think we need so many ranks, maybe trim it down to 6 or so with the highest rank being at 1000 messages instead?

edit: or even simpler why not have the old "ranks are given based on likes"? then spamming for rank becomes irrelevant

Perhaps, everything is up for discussion, this is a proposition thread. Nothing has yet been decided, and I was not the one to come up with the idea of more than what we already have. But nobody is encouraging something, it's like saying having ability to make posts encourages breaking the rules by posting.

There is an option to go along with likes, we can go with it, just offering a place to voice your opinions so this can be properly implemented.

I find the gold member , emerald member , diamond member is for me to boring. Maybe find another way
