Admin's Name: Scarface

Time and date: 11/11/13, around 01.45

Description: Scarface and I had a minor dicussion on-going from the previous map, at which he muted me - I then went on to ask him why once the map switched to lila_panic, and since we didn't agree he muted me once more (Don't care, not why I'm writing here), so I rejoined (Which I know ain't allowed) to get in touch with him, or at least to make him know I was still muted, but that didn't lead anywhere..

Anyway, he decides to kick me for the rejoining, then once I join back in, he decides to ban me.

If taking 2 actions towards 1 isn't abusing, then I don't know what you define as 'admin abuse'.

I don't have any picture proof, but I'm sure you can check the chat logs to see what was going on, and you sure as heck can see that he kicked me, and then decided to ban me (for 10 min) with no warning.
 
Just a footnote, if there's some missing info it's due to me being very, very tired - anyhow, your chatlogs and whatsoever can fill in the missing parts.
My complaint is ONLY for the kick-'n-ban thing.. it is major abuse of the admin options.
 
I will handle this, if nobody else does it before me, as soon as i get some free time off my Uni.
During this week i'm nearly 24/7 at school studying

at the mapvote i muted maybe 2-3 people for light spam (if you post more then once i gag and you posted twice) on what they wanted to be the next map, you rejoined complaining about it and saying you only posted once.(if people say it once i do not take any action) so i gaged you again, then you rejoined again so i kicked you saying rejoining was not allowed, then you reconnected saying i abused so i gave you a small ban for the acusation.

thats my side of the story

I reconnected saying nothing as far as I remember, and hell, even if I DID call out an abuse, that is NO reason to ban.
I also stated I am not complaining about the so called "gag", I don't really give a damn about it..
But you taking 2 actions towards 1, that's defo abusing.

And oh yeah, a decent admin might wanna check any log available, cuz I call bull on his "side of the story".

I don't think it was really really really necessary to ban, but i don't really mind because it was a small band, and to be honest you were not in the truth, if i were you i'd have shut up and everything would have been fine.

Anyway yeah I should admit that saying 22222 only 2 times isn't really a bit spam, eventho if there are many players and every player types 2222 it becomes a mess. that's why i generally gag everyone on mapvote.


I don't approve this as abuse report nor I fully approve the ban, anyway it's the admin's decision how to handle a situation and as I can't consider this an abuse I'm not going to do anything special over it.

So baning for letting out my opinion about his usage of the admin status, is not abusing?

Oh, and btw.. As I already pointed out, I'm not complaining about the gags, as I didn't recall having said '2' and '22222'.. but now that it's brought up,
I've got to say that the first gag was completely out of proportions.

2. '2' and '22222' is hardly classified as spamming, I've never done it before, and as stated above +
no one mentioned it wasn't allowed, not in that map or any other.
That goes for any admin I've ever seen/played with, including him.

Since he believed I was lying (I repeat, I didn't remember typing it twice) I can acknowledge the second gag as fair, but that doesn't change
the fact his first gag was but a stupid bitch move.
And yeah, I still don't agree with the kick-'n-ban, and I never will.
Either your rules for the admins aren't specific enough, or they're just not obeying - Never have I seen double actions being allowed, and never
have I seen it being up to "the individual admin to decide" in a case such as this.. and I've more than enough of experience with being an admin/cooperating/communicating/whatever with
one or several admins.

I appreciate the time you've taken to read into it, but I have to say, and repeating, I do NOT agree with you.

I fully support Scarface. As niko already said it's a legal action to mute players on mapvote to avoid a mess of numbers being spamed in the chat. As you were reconnecting and talking to Scarface he took the time to explain you his actions. But you insisted on your side of the story although it was not the truth. Therefor the other gag and to stop this meaningless discussion. Again reconnect which has been punished with a kick. The last thing was provocative and leading nowhere and the only chance for Scarface to end this was giving out a ban.

Conclusion: Gag (spam), slay (reconnect), gag (lying), kick (reconnect), ban (provocative behaviour).

I don't know how many warnings are necessary to let people know that they are wrong...

And there is one rule: Please obey the admins. They are right!

That's wrong. We have boundaries to where they can go. They are just not this narrow
 
well...
admins are the cops of the servers, we follow rules but seeing as almost each scenario is different and people is different, so will every admin action differ, and what admins do about different situations.
there is no a4 paper on how to be an admin.
As you said you had admin experience and you must get this then...
but yes admins are right most of the time and in my opinion it is stupid to argue with/provoke them.

Actually admins are just the same as the average player, and it's pretty much a 50/50 on who's right and not.
Admins just get it their way, seeing as they have the "power" on the server..

It's stupid to argue with/provoke anybody, and you know just as well as I, that admins do it too.

Edit:
What you did, being abuse or not, is pretty much decided by the server owner(s) and not by a "set of rules made for admins".
You could have your status removed on plenty of servers, and I could get a ban on plenty as well.

That's correct, posting a word/number twice or even three times is not much of a spam and we hardly warn for spamming when voting comes. But it has become so common that everyone writes a bunch of numbers at every mapvote (every 20 minutes)... imagine 20-30 players post the number "2" two or three times.

If it was me I would've gagged as many as I can who posted more than twice but I/we usually ungag after few seconds-minutes, depends on the behaviour... unless we forget to ungag (which I sometimes do :<, but then most gagged people reminds me via (@)pm to admins to ungag them.
