hey, isn't what the chat command
nominate already does?
it shows you all the maps you can nominate, which ones were recently played and which ones were already nominated. and if a maximum is reached, it will tell you so too.
try it out
What I would like to suggest is changing how the map nomination system works.
Imagine there are 64 players on the server, and around 6 players have already nominated maps. Logically, once the 6th map is nominated, the nomination list becomes locked. After that point:
- Option 1: No vote
- Options 2 and 3: Not functional
- Options 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9: Available for voting
- Option 0: Extend the current map
My suggestion is to improve the nomination system by allowing the same map to be nominated multiple times, even after the nomination list is full, and tracking how many players nominate the same map.
For example:
- Alex nominates de_dust2
- Ben nominates de_dust
- Chris nominates de_cbble
- Daniel nominates de_inferno
- Niko nominates zm_cbble
- SyntX nominates zm_4way
Now, the nomination list becomes locked after these six maps are added. However, if another players,
Ethan and Hank tries to nominate de_dust2, and Seele tries to nominate zm_cbble, instead of being blocked, the system should increase the nomination count for de_dust2 and zm_cbble.
So now:
- de_dust2 has 3 nominations -> add in top (because it has higher nominators)
- zm_cbble has 3 nominations -> (put in 2nd after de_dust2)
- Other maps have 1 nomination each
This way, the nomination pool reflects which maps are most popular among players. When voting starts, players can clearly see which maps were nominated by the largest number of people, making the voting process fair and more representative of the community’s preferences.
