Any tips for people who are new to surfing?

I just recently started to really get into surfing, I know the basics and have a decent time in aircontrol (48:70) but I haven't beat kitsune (It's just the last stage). With that, I was wondering if anyone could give some tips on how to get better? Thanks for any replies!
 
You just gotta practice alot tbh.
Also a tip for kitsune, if you cant complete the last stage, after like 5 tries just restart your run and start from the beginning, you will learn alot about the map and eventually you will complete the stages faster and get a better time.
And try to beat surf_rookie imo its a good map to practice and get some surf skills.
type !hop to hop around some of the servers.

Thanks for the advice!

I'm not sure why the map creator made the last level so much harder than the rest, its not even that the surfing is that hard, its more of the length.
I plan on practicing quite a bit since I have a lot of free time so we'll see.

the last level is actually a mix of all the other levels, it's exponentially harder indeed, but as long as you master the other levels you'll be fine.
 
A for the right side of the ramp and D for the left side of the ramp
A to turn Left and D to turn right
NEVER press W or S unless you know how to surf a really weird way
look toward the ramp to go into the air or look away to fall off

These are just the basics the rest comes with practice

well...for some reason it was on the top of the list xD
still not good at this whole forums thing
 
anyway its still a good thing to know for new players
 
Look out for videos on youtube or type howto on surf servers ;)
 
Stay low on The Ramps, be smoother/ if needed lower down your sensitivity, watch some YouTube videos (maybe even mine;)), would recommend going to maps like kitsune because there’s always people, tier 1-2 maps sometimes are hard and not good for new players! And lastly, just ask for help from others :)
 
Watch replays, have others help with a lot of time and practice! Let me know if you need any help in game I would be glad to assist. :)
