maps | List + Add/Remove requests!

For that matter, I'd like you to consider my map for "nominate". It has been tested many times and people have had fun playing it. I suggest putting it in rotation for at least a month, and then decide whether it looks good in the list of regular maps or not.

Cyberman maps ain't happening anytime soon ( as said previously already)

zm_outbreak_v2 simply no space at all,I believe even 30 players would be stuck in that map,let alone 64.
zm_granny_house is a map made for zombie revival,does not fit our game mode criteria in the slightest. (Zombie Revival = All OP crouch spots)

Other maps are already uploaded in the server as special maps.
 
Heyy, its been over 15 years since we had our server and did some custom maps:

if u need to edit maps, to add spawns, or delete something let me know its been long time but i have 330 hours in SDK; 4500 hours in CSS am just vet that wants to help.

Hey mate,welcome to the forum.

I did take a look at the map you've posted and it seems like this map was made for Zombie Revival (Unlimited Ammo Zombie Mod) give the spots provided.
It does not meet the criteria of our gamemode..

maybe its time to add zm_aztec_v1 to normal Nomination list , after all the tests , i would welcome that 😊

hello i dint know were to put this so i did it here i just wanted to ask if maybe there could be an monthly switch between maps or something.
it would be nice to see other maps because there is too many the same map rotation and its always the same would be nice to have some different maps like the special ones put in rotation in normal maps. i really love the server but in my opinions there is too much the same map over and over please think about making new map list maybe would be really nice.

Hi I'd like to have following maps removed from the server and have them changed back to their original versions:

zm_cbble_eh_summer_v5
zm_marbble_summer_v3
zm_eh_solo_summer (arguably the best of these maps)
zm_eh_rush_final_summer_v2

I get the idea of having seasonal, themed maps. I'm not trying to be rude and I appreciate the mappers, editors and their effort but the maps are like 20% of the fun the original maps are. Beach balls that are as annoying as barrels on Dust2 because u sometimes get stuck in them, waterfalls that block your view (I get that they're some kind of autosniper-block-feature but that kills hunting), different obstacles that only sometimes have a hitbox and overall poor visibility when it comes to hunting kill it for me.
Also, color-/brightnesswise those maps are (still) way too overkill. Not trying to exaggerate here but thanks to those maps I've experienced head and eye pain for the first time in my 20 years of gaming.

Suggestion would be to add those maps to the special maps pool and have the original maps in standard cycle.

Also, I'd like to have zm_neko_athletic_park_v4 removed from the active list as it's rtv'd instantly almost every time it's voted (only god knows why it's voted anyway (and it's really bad according to reizu))

Fully agree with is.

Solo summer is the only one i find thats actually playable.

Playing marbble and rush tonight also hurt my eyes after 10 mins on each as the brightness/contrast is way too much. The waterfall on doorways also dosen't make any sense to me, just makes it harder to hunt. Maybe the summer event can end sooner instead of the end of august?

Fully understand it could be a monitor issue on my end and may not effect everyone.

Also no hate towards the mapper that made them!

If i say my opinion there are two issues for me with the maps
1. Gameplay
I dont mind thematic version of maps, but adding bunch of random stuff to map doesnt help at all, things like waterfalls and ballons, stupid pools (which are completely useless on any map) etc. I get the thought of helping zombies but it does the exact opposite. Cause of these things hunting becomes too unpredictable for ppl which forces everyone to camp. That also forces players like me to play more safe cause i cant run around the map alone on 64 players. Worst example is actually zm_solo where the waterfalls between ramps makes the rooms unseeable. Lot of hunters play around those two rooms to move and hunt but now everybody just camps cause they cant even see the zombies through and chance of getting run over 200km/h bhopper is high.

2. Maps are too colorful. I think it would simply help to put more blank colors on the maps. It hurts eyes a lot especially since the maps getting reworked are ofc the maps most played. Also i dont think any color besides red can be seen on most maps aswell. I basically gave up on crosshair through summer i shoot of viewmodel instead.

Lastly i wanna say that this is not topic to shit on mappers. I admire the work i also think it helps v3 players help being engaged and its the reason server is still alive cause ppl care and do new stuff. But all is work in progress and there are ways to make most ppl more happy when we adress these issues.

I agree with waterfalls, they interfere too much. The color scheme is certainly bright, but for me personally it is not a big problem. Beach balls can be used as an additional obstacle, which zombies can climb to the camping position, and I tried to use it, but most zombie players do not understand this, and think that I am just playing with the ball, and kick it in the other direction, opposite the camping position, lol. Many times there was a situation when I was running away from zombies, running backwards and shooting, and tripped over these damn balls. After infection, of course, there was a rage like "How f###ing awesome, I f###ed these balls in mouth"

I once played all those maps in one sitting in a span of 1:30 hours and didnt face any issues with its brightness and my eyes. That being said though, it was at day time so pupils are naturally smaller due to the sun light, which isnt the case at night where they open wider. Or it could also be the fact that most players are a bit older, which is why it hurts their eyes more.

Gameplay-wise its just the exact same. The beach balls that are on a lot of the summer maps can be pushed away with 1 e-click and all they do is force you to be more mindful of them in your surroundings, as to not get stuck. The waterfalls are a good way to nerf the long sniper shots from the humans, in most maps there are huge hallways that you can snipe across the map from, while stilling sitting safely in a spot. They make it easier for zombies to stay at higher hps and ambush rooms with 3 active campspots, usually aiming into those hallways, by coming through the waterfall.

The summer maps give a nice change, a beautiful, beach-like setting with a lot handmade props and sprites to admire. They create a more refreshing experience to help against the hard heat and sweat that now also comes irl

Like others have said, I fully appreciate the work and time our map creators put into this.

That being said, I agree with most of the points already mentioned in this thread regarding the summer editions. Some of the best and most iconic maps on the server have been turned into versions that some now actively avoid. Especially hunters, which isn't good. A lot of additions have been made that weren’t part of the original maps – rooms, obstacles etc. The gameplay has shifted towards more randomness.

Colors:
You can create summer maps without going full rainbow/Fortnite/Minecraft mode. Minor visual tweaks are fine, but I think these ultimate changes are too much and hurt the overall experience.

Obstacles/props:
The beach balls don't really add anything useful imo - they make hunting harder. On top of that, there are random small props like buckets, that just block movement – not great for either zombies or humans. Especially for zombies - getting interrupted while bhopping due to invisible props or small terrain bumps. Also, if the intention is for the balls to act as obstacles, it often results in players just shooting at the balls instead of focusing on hunting zombies – which kind of goes against the purpose of the game mod. I think it just feeds into the trolls.

Waterfalls over doorways:
I get the idea behind it in terms of giving zombies more cover but like @Aparthyy said, it actually makes hunting much worse. You just run blindly into a mysterybox which makes you less inclined to hunt. That’s a bigger problem in my opinion than fx campers having some line of sight.

Bugs:
Some maps have frustrating bugs. Iceblocks/cubes on marbble – zombies standing clearly on the edge of these often can’t be hit. There are also some small terrain edges + invisible obstacles / 'walls' that block your movement for no good reason.

I don’t know if these maps were tested enough before being added to the rotation, but they’ve definitely been over the past few weeks.
