Ban reason: Racist
Unban reason: I'm not convinced what race did I attack, because racist means attacking someone's skin colour and I never did something like that !! Anyway, I changed the spray that caused this and I'll not say or display anything related to it ever again !! I would like another chance but I'd also like some explanation since I' m not convinced what race did I attack ??
I want to add: "I encounter tons of people who are under the impression that religious discrimination is racism. Especially if it is against muslims. But a lot of these people are so uneducated in the matter that they think discrimination against women is also racism.
Yeah, that's about as much racism as discrimination against bus drivers...
Anywho, a lot of people tend to think it's not racism to discriminate against a christian or a Budhist or a pagan or heathen or atheist, but that it is racism to say something negative about muslims and Islam.
There's one minor factor, one small thing that I wonder if it's enough to consider religious discrimination as racism rather than bigotry.
Racism covers skincolor and ethnicity. Nationality is not included, so hating someone on the grounds of them being Russian or Swedish or Polish doesn't fall under racism. One of the many things that the word ethnicity includes is among other factors that together becomes ethnicity, religion is one of them.
But I personally do not think that is enough to call it racism. It's like saying that manipulative behavior is one of the symptoms of psychopathy. Therefor any manipulative person you come across must be a psychopath. Similarily, religion is like a 'symptom' of ethnicity.
Wikipedia for example says "An ethnic group (or ethnicity) is a group of people whose members identify with each other, through a common heritage, often consisting of a common language, a common culture (often including a shared religion) and an ideology that stresses common ancestry or endogamy.[1][2][3] Another definition is "...a highly biologically self-perpetuating group sharing an interest in a homeland connected with a specific geographical area, a common language and traditions, including food preferences, and a common religious faith"
I draw the conclusion that attacking religion is not any form of racism whatsoever. If the attacks are in form of obvious insults, discrimination or similar, then it would fall under bigotry.
My question is, is anyone more read up on it than I am and agree or disagree? Have I reached the right or wrong conclusion? Do you think it's racism or not to discriminate against religion, insult religion or infringe on people's freedom of religion? "
Conclusion: religion is religion, race is race, a burger is a burger, and it ain't pizza. On this note, I await some explanation on the motive of the ban. Sure, I incited, that much is my fault indeed, but your reason for banning me, TOTALY WRONG, in my opinion !!
Merry Christmas !!
